On June 26, the Guangdong (Guangzhou) Game Overseas Publishing Service Center and the Game Enterprise Service Center were inaugurated in Haizhu District and Huangpu District respectively. The founding of the two centers represents significant progress for Guangdong in proactively adapting to the gaming market trend and responding to the needs of game companies.
Lu Xiaokun, Executive President of Guangdong Entertainment & Game Industry Association, emphasized in an interview with SFC that "Guangdong has a highly comprehensive gaming industrial chain. Leading game companies are setting the pace for the entire industry and inspiring further innovations and breakthroughs. The founding of the two service centers offers better platforms and lays a solid foundation for the high-quality development of Guangdong's gaming industry."
In 2024, Guangdong's entire gaming industry generated a total revenue of 260.431 billion CNY, accounting for approximately 80% of the country's total and marking an increase of 6.3% year on year. Remarkably, in the overseas market, Guangdong's gaming industry raked in 42.36 billion CNY in revenue, a year-on-year growth of 9.9%. The establishment of the two centers has created a synergistic model of "international expansion + local empowerment," positioning Guangdong as a global gaming hub and accelerating the technological advancement and cultural exchange.
